Not only do you need to perform exercises which target your abdominal muscles, but you need to get plenty of cardio exercise and follow a low-fat diet. In order to achieve female six pack abs you may need to lose some weight in order to remove the layer of fat which naturally covers your abs. 1. Select a Nutrition Plan

Before you begin to follow a workout regimen you need to settle on a nutrition plan that will keep your body nourished and energized without supplying it with extra fats and sugars you do not need. Do not be afraid of carbs – eating carbohydrates like oats, brown rice, and cream of wheat can help you to build lean muscle. Also take in some protein by eating things like chicken, lean turkey, egg whites, salmon, and lean hamburger. If you need help constructing a diet plan, there are many online resources which can help you or you can speak to your physician.

2. Select a Workout Plan

To get female six pack abs or to simple tone your female abs you need to do more than just perform crunches – you need to begin following a regular exercise regimen. This workout plan should include plenty of cardio exercise and maybe even weight training. Do not push yourself too hard, however. Be sure to let your body rest in between workouts so that you do not become burnt out. Consider following a plan of training for two days, then taking a day off. This will average out to around three workout days per week.

3. Perform Ab-Targeting Exercises

Your cardio workouts and nutrition plan will help you to lose weight and build muscle all over your body, but in order to flatten your stomach and tone your abs you will also need to perform some ab-targeting exercises. Leg lifts and crunches are easy exercises which you can do at home. When you begin, stick to just two sets per workout session so that you do not strain yourself. As time goes on you will be able to increase your number of sets and repetitions.

By following some of these tips you can get on your way to achieving toned, even six pack abs. Keep in mind that this process is neither quick nor easy – losing weight and gaining muscle takes time and effort!
