Better Six

If you woke up bright and early at 7 a.m. this morning, it probably wasn't to catch that Netherlands vs. Denmark World Cup game. Rather, you — just like we did — wanted to catch the first of many appearances by the cast of “Eclipse” to promote the film, even if it means rising before the sun does. And now, without further ado, we present you a recap of Robert Pattinson on “The Today Show” and the return of Hollywood Crush's Twilight Watch!
“Today Show” correspondent Jenna Bush Hager (yes, the daughter of former President George W. Bush) got the difficult task of having to fly to Los Angeles over the weekend and speak to Rob at “The Official Twilight Saga: Eclipse” Convention. When she asked if he would ever try to walk out into a room of screaming fans without his bodyguard at his side, he joked, “Oh yeah, easy peasy,” but then added that he was “just saying that for the sake of his bodyguard” who he always teases that he doesn't need.
Talk quickly turned to Rob's relationship with Taylor Lautner, and whether it was as competitive off-screen as it is in the films.
“I always want to have better hair than him. I want to have a better six pack,” Rob said with a straight face, before laughing and saying that they have always been very close.
But apparently “very close” might not be the right phrase. They showed a clip from Rob, Taylor and Kristen Stewart talking to fans at the convention where Taylor was discussing the filming of the tent scene. During one take, Taylor walked into the tent to find his breast very firmly grabbed by none other than Mr. Robert Pattinson.
“Then I have to be serious, look him in the eye, and tell him 'I'm hotter than you',” Taylor said, causing spontaneous laughter and applause from the crowd.
Jenna then asked Rob about how his preparing for the filming of “Breaking Dawn” now that it has been announced that it will be split into two films. It will have been more than a year since the cast has been on a “Twilight Saga” set (“Eclipse” wrapped October 30 last year, and producer Wyck Godfrey said “Breaking Dawn” isn't set to start until November of this year), and Rob didn't seem to know if he could handle it.
“I'll probably end up getting cabin fever and end up jumping off the balcony,” Rob said of being trapped in a hotel hiding from paparazzi for another long shoot.
Though Kristen was ostensibly not mentioned during the interview (a first?), Jenna did sneak in a question asking Rob if he, like Edward Cullen, would ever be willing to “settle down and get married.” Rob questioned the idea of having to “settle” and getting married being entwined, and said he doesn't like the idea of having to settle. Marriage, on the other hand, wasn't entirely out of the picture.
“I would like to go on a date,” Rob announced. “I'm just saying. I'm just putting that out there. Because I never go one dates anymore.”
